My Lord,
In my despatch No. 27 of the 12th February I transmitted a Certificate from the Colonial Surgeon as to an attack of Paralysis suffered by Mr. W. Miles, third clerk in the Colonial Treasury, and the consequent leave of absence for the recovery of his health, after six years employment. I regret to say that Mr. Miles has since been reduced to such a helpless state as calls for his immediate removal, at the same time that his small salary having left him wholly unprovided with funds, he is destitute of the requisite means.
This is a case of such peculiar hardship as has not occurred during my four years...
